Children's privacy (COPPA)
Last updated: 2026-05-17
SightSing is designed for ages 13 and up. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verified parental consent.
If a child wants to use SightSing
During signup, users self-declare their age. If a user under 13 attempts to create an account, we route them through a parental-consent flow before any practice data is collected. A parent or guardian must provide email-verified consent.
What we do (and don't) collect from minors
Same as adult accounts: email, practice scores, level progress. Microphone audio is never recorded or transmitted — only the resulting pitch comparison is saved. No location, contact lists, photos, or device identifiers are collected from any user.
Parental rights
Parents may review, download, or delete their child's data at any time. Email privacy@sightsing.app with your child's account email and we'll respond within 7 days.
Schools and classroom use
SightSing is not currently offered as a classroom product. If a teacher uses SightSing with students under 13, the school is responsible for obtaining parental consent under COPPA / FERPA. A formal classroom product with school-administered consent is on the roadmap; email teachers@sightsing.app to get on the waitlist.
